You may be eligible for an employment-based, first-preference EB-1 Visa if you are an alien of extraordinary ability, are an outstanding professor or researcher, or are certain multinational executives or managers.

This category of Visa is highly sought after and is notoriously difficult to fulfil the criteria. To qualify there is a very strict and exceptionally high standard required for each subcategory with a burden of proof that is equally exacting. A different Visa with a lower standard may be more suitable such as the 01 Visa.

The EB-1 Visa can lead to a Green Card and US Citizenship, but it is hard to qualify for an EB-1 Visa for that very reason as competition is very high.
